Industrial Firework and Safety Supervisor (IFSSV) 

Our industrial firework and safety supervisors meet the following formal requirements:

Education Requirements

  • Fire officer or sub-officer training at the Rescue Institute and/or firefighting/rescue basic courses.
  • Work experience in supervisory roles.
  • First aid (EA 1)
  • Occupational safety card
  • Hot work card
  • Driver's license
  • Work experience in supervisory roles.
  • Additional safety and fire/rescue experience/training is considered an advantage.

Language Skills

  • Excellent Finnish (spoken/written)
  • Good English (minimum intermediate level)
  • Additional language skills are considered a plus

Job Description

  • Serves as the liaison between the company and the client at the supervisory level, preparing, overseeing, and training on practical measures related to fire watch and protection.
  • Ensures risk assessments, risk analyses, and related corrective and improvement proposals, as well as work and hot work permits, are completed before the work starts.
  • Organizes and plans the required equipment and materials for hot work sites.
  • Monitors the compliance of fire watchers and fire workers with safety requirements and ensures proper levels of protection and maintenance for hot work.
  • Reports near-miss incidents immediately according to guidelines and takes immediate action to eliminate or reduce risks.
  • Supervises and advises fire workers and fire watchers on work-related risks and their mitigation.
  • Arranges and assigns fire watchers to hot work sites in compliance with client orientations and fire and rescue professional requirements.
  • Ensures the validity of work and hot work permits (for the site) and their ongoing compliance.
  • Monitors and ensures that the site's fire and rescue equipment is adequate and that the quality of protection meets the requirements of the hot work permit before the start of hot work.
  • Oversees the use, inspection, and compliance of safety-related machinery, structures, materials, and personal protective equipment (HS).
  • Supervises the activity of fire watchers, ensures sufficient protection, and arranges for breaks.
  • Follows the client's instructions and guidelines when moving within production areas and sites.
  • Monitors employees' working hours and verifies completed hours.
  • Communicates client orders and guidelines to fire watchers.
  • Participates in fire watch activities as needed.
  • Implements and organizes other fire watch and protection tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • After work completion, ensures the cleanliness of the work site and the proper handling of waste according to client instructions.
